Level 7

Level 7 describes competences for the processing of new, complex tasks and problems and for the autonomous management of processes in a technical specialism or in a strategy-oriented field of occupational activity. The requirement structure is characterised by frequent and unpredictable changes.

 

Professional competence

Knowledge

Be in possession of comprehensive, detailed, specialist and up-to-date knowledge in a technical specialism (corresponding to level 2 [Master’s level] of the Qualifications Framework for German Higher Education Qualifications) or be in possession of comprehensive occupational knowledge in a strategy-oriented field of occupational activity. Be in possession of extended knowledge in adjoining areas.

Skills

Be in possession of specialised technical or conceptual skills for the solution of strategic problems in a technical specialism (corresponding to level 2 [Master’s level] of the Qualifications Framework for German Higher Education Qualifications) or in a field of occupational activity.
Consider alternatives even where information is incomplete.
Develop and apply new ideas or procedures and assess these taking into account various evaluation criteria.

 

Personal competence

Social competence

Assume responsibility for leading groups or organisations in the context of complex tasks ‑
and present the work results of these groups or organisations.
Support the technical development of others in a targeted manner.
Lead both area-specific and cross-area discussion.

Autonomy

Define objectives for new application or research-oriented tasks while reflecting on potential social, economic and cultural implications, deploy appropriate means and autonomously access knowledge required for this purpose.
