As an employee, you can use the DQR in a number of different ways.

  • It will help you to assess your competences and judge which skills and capabilities you might still have to acquire to support your ongoing professional training.
     
  • It highlights which qualifications exist at which levels and therefore makes it easier for you to find out which further qualifications might be of interest to you.
     
  • If you wish to work in another European country, the DQR and EQF will help you to understand other education systems.
     
  • It will be easier for you to demonstrate in a European context which competences you have acquired. The indication of the EQF level on a qualification certificate or diploma makes it easier for employers in Europe to better understand it. In addition to the traditional information covering subjects, learning content and outcomes achieved by the individual, they also get information about the requirement level to which the competences you have acquired relate.
     
  • The DQR shows the parity of esteem between German vocational education and training and other education sectors, thus helping you present your competences appropriately in other European countries.
